AGM and farm visit 2014

An enjoyable and informative Annual General Meeting was held on September 27th.  The event kicked off (as usual) with much appreciated refreshments supplied and hosted by Tegwen Burns at Penlan Farm, Kidwelly.  These were followed by a look at the farm’s beef calves, including a young Welsh white bull that caught everyone’s attention.

Then it was ‘all aboard The Skylark’ for a most interesting tour of Penlan’s enterprises and a valuable insight into how nature-friendly farming can be put into practice. Many thanks to Rowan Flindall and the farm staff for the guided tour.

Fortified by more refreshments, members retired to the Red Lion at nearby Llandyfaelog for the official meeting. The minutes will be distributed in due course, but highlights include the Society’s officers all being re-elected, work on the website progressing slowly, and efforts to get the Society officially recognised continuing. Members were also reminded to REGISTER their cattle.

After a break for dinner, the winners of the Photo Competition were announced and prizes awarded.
