Rare breeds review of the year in the Farmers Guardian

December 19, 2025

The Christmas 2025 edition of the Farmers Guardian saw another mention of Ancient Cattle of Wales.  In a review of the year, the Chief Executive of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, Christopher Price, highlighted several of the organisation’s successes including the recognition of Ancient Cattle of Wales on the RBST Watchlist and the beginning of programmes to boost ACW numbers and collect material for the UK National Livestock Gene Bank.

During 2025, the RBST also campaigned for small local abattoirs and promoted the role of native breeds in supporting the natural environment, among many other activities.
